Sana Jiwani works as a specialist in the clinical nursing and rapid response teams at the Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. She joined the critical care area at the same hospital soon after completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Based in Decatur, Georgia, USA, Shelina Jiwani has been working at the Emory hospital for the past 21 years. She has been at the forefront of treating Covid-19 patients since the start of the pandemic.
Zehra Bana works as a Clinical Practice leader for the Mental Health program at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Ontario. Her goal is to ensure that she and her team provide safe, high-quality, evidence-based care to patients.
Based in Houston, USA, Dr Salma Khuwaja is one of the two operational directors of Epidemiology who are leading the City of Houston’s response against Covid-19. She has been working with local hospitals in planning and implementation of disease prevention and control measures for the last 16 years.
Based in Umm Al Quwain, UAE, Noureen Kamran is a critical care nurse in the neonatal and NICU departments. Recently, her job has included attending to cases where perinatal care is required for pregnant women with suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Based in Doha, Qatar, Rita Chagani works as a Patient Care Assistant at the Hamad General Hospital in Doha, Qatar. She has also worked as an ICU nurse during the Dengue outbreak in her home country, Pakistan.
Misbah Javaid, who hails from Karachi, Pakistan, is currently working at the Belhoul Speciality Hospital in Dubai as a frontline emergency nurse. She takes care of different types of Covid-19 patients, including high risk ones with multiple illnesses.
To mark the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi this week, The Ismaili is pleased to present Zahe Muqaddar performed by Karim Javed Alwani. Originally sung by Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi, Zahe Muqaddar is a Na’at written in praise of Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him and his family). This video was recorded in the Garden of Light at the Aga Khan Centre in London. The marble screens in the garden are inscribed with poetry by celebrated Persian poets and extracts from the Qur’an.
