Mukhi Saheb, Mukhiani Saheba, Kamadia Saheb, and Kamadiani Saheba of Lisbon Darkhana welcome Mawlana Hazar Imam upon his arrival in Portugal.

At the invitation of the Government of Portugal, Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Lisbon this afternoon to mark the conclusion of his Diamond Jubilee year, commemorating 60 years of his Imamat. Global celebrations began on 11 July 2017 and conclude over the next week at the Diamond Jubilee Celebration in Lisbon, Portugal.

This July, Lisbon will play host to some of the finest musical and artistic talent representing a diversity of art forms and cultures from around the world.

The eTicketing Platform for the Diamond Jubilee Celebration – Lisboa 2018 is now open. From this centralised platform you can purchase tickets and reserve places for the various concerts, shows, events, and exhibitions taking place in Lisbon from 6-10 July 2018.

As part of the inaugural Jubilee Arts International Arts Festival, Lisbon will play host to the International Film Festival this July, presenting the diversity and talented work of filmmakers from around the world.

Jubilee Arts has uncovered some of the finest performing arts talent within the Jamat and is ready to host them on the global stage.

The inaugural Jubilee Arts International Arts Festival to be held in Lisbon this July will feature the International Talent Showcase, presenting musical renditions, dance pieces, and stage talent from across the world.

The exhibited artwork to be displayed in Lisbon has been selected from thousands of submissions through National Arts Festivals around the world.

The Diamond Jubilee Celebration - Lisboa 2018 will host the inaugural Jubilee Arts International Arts Festival this July. The International Art Gallery will feature art pieces from all over the world, and provides an opportunity for budding artists to get involved through workshops and panels.

A week-long Celebration in Lisbon, Portugal is being held from 5-11 July 2018, to mark the culmination of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee.

O Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum (LIF) anunciou no dia 21 de Março que, em resposta a um convite oficial do governo, Mawlana Hazar Imam visitará Portugal em Julho de 2018 para participar em eventos que marcam o final do ano do Diamond Jubilee, incluindo um Festival de Diamond Jubilee e um Darbar onde todos os Jamats poderão participar.

Com uma actuação inebriante, Eduardo Paniagua Ensemble deixou rendido o público que encheu o Salão Nobre do Centro Ismaili, em Lisboa, nos dois espectáculos que ali decorreram no passado dia 16 de Dezembro.

Yesterday, the Portuguese Republic and the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa each bestowed honours and tributes upon Mawlana Hazar Imam. The visit to Portugal was Hazar Imam’s first official public event since the commencement of his Diamond Jubilee.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrives in Lisbon

Mawlana Hazar Imam is in Portugal today where the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa is awarding him an honorary doctorate, and the President of the Republic is decorating him with one of the country's highest honours.

Universidade NOVA de Lisboa is honouring Mawlana Hazar Imam with a doctorate honoris causa in the presence of the President of the Portuguese Republic on 20 July 2017. This event will be webcast at The.Ismaili/live starting at 2:00 PM Lisbon time (GMT+1).

His Excellency Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of the Portuguese Republic, thanks the Ismaili community for their contributions to the nation.

Portuguese President visits Jamat at Ismaili Centre, expresses nation’s gratitude

Two years ago, the oldest Ismaili Muslim community in Europe celebrated 100 years since it’s arrival on the continent. In July, an exhibition that recounts their story was inaugurated at the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon.

Lisbon, 12 May 2016 — The Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Ismaili Imamat signed an agreement today that will strengthen research capacity and improve quality of life in Portugal and in Portuguese-speaking countries. Mawlana Hazar Imam and members of his delegation, as well as Ministry staff were present at the signing ceremony. The Ismaili Imamat is supporting the agreement with a €10 million grant over 10 years.
