Spectators young and old celebrate the Netball competition at the European Sports Festival 2019.

During a weekend filled with sunshine, smiles, and sports at the University of Nottingham, thousands of members of the Jamat from 15 countries joined together in a celebration of diversity, service, and health and wellbeing at the European Sports Festival 2019.

No passado fim-de-semana, 72 alunos portugueses e franceses encontraram-se em Lisboa para participar num STEP CAMP que se baseou no modelo de intercâmbio cultural entre o ITREB Portugal e o ITREB França.

The European Sports Festival took place between 19-21 April 2019, at which over 1600 participants competed across more than 40 sporting categories. Hundreds of volunteers from across the UK and Europe also came together to serve across a number of areas.

No fim de semana de 19 a 21 de Abril de 2019, realizou-se mais uma edição do European Sports Festival e, mais uma vez, Portugal teve uma prestação incrível nas diversas modalidades em que participou. 

No fim de semana passado, Mawlana Hazar Imam visitou Lisboa para se reunir com o Board of Trustees da Universidade Aga Khan (AKU), uma das 10 agências da Rede Aga Khan para o Desenvolvimento. 

Mawlana Hazar Imam attended an event to celebrate the Aga Khan University's partnerships in Portugal, at which Mr Carlos Moedas, the European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation (left), delivered the keynote address.

At a special dinner hosted in Lisbon on 13 April 2019, the Aga Khan University (AKU) celebrated its partnership with Portuguese universities on research and development initiatives. The event was attended by Mawlana Hazar Imam and Princess Zahra.

Princess Zahra attended a special event to celebrate partnerships between the Aga Khan University and Portuguese institutions of Higher Education.

The Aga Khan University's Board of Trustees welcomed representatives from Portugal’s government, Higher Education institutions, and leaders of the Jamat and Aga Khan Development Network to a special event in Lisbon on 13 April 2019.

A Rede Aga Khan para o Desenvolvimento (AKDN) juntou-se à Plataforma Global de Apoio a Estudantes Sírios para dar assistência aos estudantes da Síria que, através desta Plataforma Global, chegam a Portugal para prosseguir os seus estudos académicos.

A 1ª edição dos Prémios Aga Khan para a Música chegou ao fim com um grandioso evento que contou com a presença de Mawlana Hazar Imam, sua Excelência, o Presidente da República Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa e do Príncipe Amyn, que premiaram 10 vencedores.

At a momentous and celebratory event held at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, the Aga Khan Music Awards reached a crescendo, as His Excellency President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Mawlana Hazar Imam, and Prince Amyn awarded prizes to ten laureates, representing 13 countries around the world.

No terceiro dia da cerimónia inaugural dos Prémios Aga Khan para a Música, célebres figuras do Mundo da música e das artes uniram-se para uma conversa relacionada com o conceito, visão e impacto dos Prémios. No seminário, estiveram ainda presentes Mawlana Hazar Imam, o Príncipe Amyn, o Príncipe Hussain e o Príncipe Aly Muhammad. 

The Seminar panel was composed of members of the Aga Khan Music Awards Master Jury, Steering Committee, and Secretariat.

On the third day of the inaugural Aga Khan Music Awards, eminent figures in the realm of arts and music came together to participate in discussions relating to the concept, vision, and impact of the Awards. The Seminar was attended by Mawlana Hazar Imam, Prince Amyn, Prince Hussain, and Prince Aly Muhammad.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Lisbon on 29 March 2019 to preside over the inaugural Aga Khan Music Awards.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Lisbon today to preside over the inaugural Aga Khan Music Awards ceremony. Taking place from 29-31 March at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Aga Khan Music Awards will feature three days of concerts and events honouring laureates in the six domains being recognised by the Award.

No dia 29 de Março, a Orquestra da Gulbenkian, conduzida pelo maestro Pedro Neves, atuou em conjunto com os Master Musicians da Iniciativa Aga Khan para a Música, do Tajiquistão, Síria e Afeganistão, na presença de Mawlana Hazar Imam e membros da Sua família.

The Aga Khan Music Awards opened with a concert on 29 March, featuring the Gulbenkian Orchestra, led by maestro Pedro Neves, which performed new works with Master Musicians of the Aga Khan Music Initiative from Tajikistan, Syria, and Afghanistan, in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam and members of his family. This video features the grand finale performance of the concert.

Prior to the concert held on 29 March for the Aga Khan Music Awards, the CEO of CTT (Portugal Postal Services) Francisco Lacerda unveiled a special commemorative stamp in honour of the Awards. Mawlana Hazar Imam signed one of the first day covers of the commemorative stamp along with Prince Amyn, Isabel Mota, President of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and Raul Moreira, Head of Philately at CTT.
