Ottawa, 17 May 2016 — This afternoon, Mawlana Hazar Imam was at Parliament Hill, where he received a warm welcome from the Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau. The pair met in the Prime Minister’s office at Centre Block.
Mawlana Hazar Imam is on a six-day visit to Canada, during which he will be in Ottawa and Toronto to attend various meetings and events. On Thursday, Mawlana Hazar Imam will deliver introductory remarks at the Global Centre for Pluralism’s Annual Pluralism Lecture, being held at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto.
Lisbon, 12 May 2016 — The Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Ismaili Imamat signed an agreement today that will strengthen research capacity and improve quality of life in Portugal and in Portuguese-speaking countries. Mawlana Hazar Imam and members of his delegation, as well as Ministry staff were present at the signing ceremony. The Ismaili Imamat is supporting the agreement with a €10 million grant over 10 years.
