Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 80th birthday was celebrated by the Jamat and members of Hazar Imam’s family with love, music and felicity. Representing the entire Ismaili community in all of its diversity, Jamati and institutional leaders visited the Imam at his home on this milestone occasion to offer congratulations, express shukrana, and to reaffirm the Jamat’s bayyah to the Imam of the Time.

On 16 December 2016, Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 80th birthday was celebrated at Aiglemont by Jamati and institutional leaders, who represented the worldwide Ismaili community, and by members of Hazar Imam’s family. Mawlana Hazar Imam expressed his great happiness at the occasion.

Aiglemont, 16 December 2016 — Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 80th birthday was celebrated by the Jamat and members of Hazar Imam’s family with love, music and felicity. Representing the entire Ismaili community in all of its diversity, Jamati and institutional leaders visited the Imam at his home on this milestone occasion to offer congratulations, express shukrana, and to reaffirm the Jamat’s bayyah to the Imam of the Time.

Startup Alley at IPN LaunchPad 2016 is where investors and mentors had a chance to network one-on-one with startup founders seeking funding and advice.

Ismaili entrepreneurs and investors from nine countries gathered in California’s Silicon Valley last month to pitch ideas, share knowledge and to network with one another as part of IPN LaunchPad. The event was a chance for budding companies to access new sources of capital and connect with mentors and experts.

On the evening of Saturday, 5 November, Mawlana Hazar Imam hosted a dinner and concert at the Ismaili Centre, Dubai for the international attendees of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. The Aga Khan Music Initative is an interregional music and arts education programme that supports talented musicians and educators in preserving, transmitting and further developing their musical heritage in contemporary forms.

The feature of the evening was a rare musical encounter between the talented and innovative artists from Afghanistan, China, Italy, and Syria.

Abu Dhabi, 7 November 2016 — Mawlana Hazar Imam wrapped up his visit to the United Arab Emirates today, following the ceremony and proceedings of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, which took place over the weekend.

Dubai, 4 November 2016 — Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in the United Arab Emirates this evening, ahead of this weekend’s presentation of the 2016 Aga Khan Award for Architecture. He was accompanied by Prince Amyn and Prince Aly Muhammad.

Anticipation has been growing in the United Arab Emirates since the announcement in October that the country will host the presentation ceremony of the 2016 Aga Khan Award for Architecture. Over the past few weeks, members of the Jamat have been learning about the Award, discussing the winning projects and visiting an exhibition at the site of the forthcoming award ceremony.
