With 40 days until the inauguration of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee, TheIsmaili is pleased to unveil a musical tribute composed by Salim – Sulaiman and performed by Ismaili artists from around the world. The video rendition of the song “honours 60 years of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s glorious Imamat,” says Sulaiman Merchant, “and offers an expression of deep gratitude through the musical voices of Ismaili artists from all corners of the world.” For the Merchant brothers, the song is also part of their personal commitment to nurture a living tradition of devotional music that appeals to a new generation of Ismaili youth.

On 11 July 2012, the Aga Khan International Conciliation and Arbitration Board (“ICAB”) received approval from Mawlana Hazar Imam to implement a new and unique training model for the global CAB system by utilising TKN volunteers. ICAB formed an international task force comprising of TKN volunteers to survey the needs of each National CAB; review literature on best practices; consult academic and training institutions; and, apply lessons learned from other Ismaili training programmes.

Yesterday evening, the Architectural League of New York accorded Mawlana Hazar Imam its highest and most important honour.

The milestone celebration of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 80th birthday engaged artists from the diverse traditions of the Ismaili community in “a musical and cultural conversation.” And ensuring that within hours of the event, the worldwide Jamat could witness the celebration in a multiplicity of languages, was no minor feat.
