Sirajuddin, a resident of Dubargar, Upper Chitral used to travel to Islamabad in search of work, leaving behind his home for a better future. Despite all his efforts, he could not earn a sustainable wage. Determined to improve his financial condition, Sirajuddin signed up to receive carpentry training under the Socio-Economic Development Programme (SEDP). He now works independently in his village and supports his family.

At the Homage Ceremony to mark the beginning of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee, an ensemble of 22 Ismaili musicians from around the world joined together to perform an intricate piece of music — a devotional soundscape to accompany the historic event on 11 July 2017.

As the Arena doors opened and the audience eagerly began to take their seats, there was an air of excitement among the concert-goers. The night began with a special performance from the Portuguese Fado singer, Cuca Roseta, who delighted the audience with her powerful voice and the melodies of her accomplished band. Following the first performance, Cheb Khaled, the Algeria-born artist famous for his songs Aicha, Didi, and C'est la vie, took the stage and energised the audience with songs performed in French, Spanish, and Arabic, much to everyone’s delight. Vishal-Shekar, the dynamic Bollywood duo thrilled the crowds to close the concert.

Highlights of the recent "Diamond Jubilee Triple-C Conference: Connecting Community to Consultation - Across Life Span" by Aga Khan Health Board for Pakistan which aimed at establishing a platform to connect health care professionals within the community to the Jamat at the grassroots level. The conference marked the formation and official launch of the “Ismaili Health Professionals’ Association (IHPA)” which connects thousands of Ismaili doctors, nurses and other health care workers around Pakistan.
