The Jubilee Games has celebrated not only the excellence of athletes in the Jamat, but also the Ismaili community’s musical performers. Much of the excitement and unity of the Jubilee Games has been spread through world-class music.

Over the past three months, the Team United Kingdom Jubilee Games Fanous has been on an epic journey across the continent, visiting jamats in Germany, Sweden and across the UK. Watch as UK athletes carry the Fanous to famous London landmarks on its way back to the Ismaili Centre, London.
The 2016 Jubilee Games Theme Song embodies the essence of the Jubilee Games for athletes, volunteers and spectators alike. The Jubilee Games Organising Team hopes the song will resonate with the global Jamat.
The Jubilee Games Fanous has reached every Jamatkhana in Kenya. It has travelled to cities, towns and villages, wildlife conservancies, and other notable places. This video highlights these travels, and the pride of the Kenyan Jamat!
On 14 June 2016, the light of the Jubilee Games shone from the top of Africa’s highest peak. A team of ten Tanzanians carried the Fanous up Mount Kilimanjaro, reaching the snowy Uhuru Peak at 5 895 metres above sea level.
The launch of Tanzania’s Fanous Roadshow in May was accompanied by a unique ceremony in which the fawanees of both Kenya and Tanzania came together in a symbolic demonstration of Ismaili brotherhood.
Shamsh Kassim-Lakha delivered a talk at the Ismaili Centre, London in which he emphasised the strategic importance of the Central Asian region in a globalised world. Titled Creating Opportunity on the Roof of the World, his talk on 20 May 2016 was part of AKF UK’s Breaking the Cycle of Poverty lecture series.
International Women’s Day was marked at the Ismaili Centre, London with a discussion on Women and the future of Afghanistan that took place on Thursday, 3 March 2016. The event featured Nurjehan Mawani, AKDN Representative for Afghanistan; Shireen Rahmani, Director of HR at Roshan Telecom and Meena Baktash, Head of the BBC Afghan Service.
