On Monday 6 September, Princess Zahra will deliver an address at a special Ceremony to name the Aga Khan University Hospital’s new Private Wing Complex in Karachi as the Princess Zahra Pavilion. The event is expected to begin at 8:00 AM (Toronto) / 1:00 PM (London) / 5:00 PM (Karachi) and will be streamed live on The Ismaili TV.

Jamati member brings glory to Chitral

After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Karachi, he struggled to procure a respectable career during the recession in 2008. Looking at his peers moving to Australia, he decided to apply for a degree in higher education in Australia.

Ground Breaking of Four Jamatkhanas in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral

The ongoing development of new Jamatkhanas in the northern areas of Pakistan has constituted the ground breaking of four new Jamatkhanas in Gilgit-Baltistan and Upper Chitral. The new spaces allocated are seismic-resistant and will serve as a multipurpose space for the community.

Preparing Guides to become Ambassadors of Change

The Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board for Pakistan organised a transformational nine-day virtual camporee for Junior and Girl Guides. Around 602 Guides from seven different countries including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, UAE, Uganda, Tanzania and Mozambique participated in the camporee which focused on exploring models of advocacy, social entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability. The camp was divided into two groups including Junior Guides aged six to 11 and Girl Guides aged 11 to 16. The first virtual camporee was held in December 2020.

Through the ‘Darakht se Hayat’ initiative, members of the Jamat worked with community partners to plant over 162,000 trees across Pakistan.

Environmental sustainability: Restoring the natural world
