It has been two years since the University of Central Asia’s first graduating class collected their hard-earned degree certificates. Today, alumni from the class of 2021 and 2022 are confidently contributing to their societies and pursuing graduate studies at renowned universities worldwide.
I come from the roof of the world: the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan, a place abundant in natural beauty and unique traditions where people are known to be kind, loving, and hospitable. It was my dream to attend the University of Central Asia (UCA), but being from the remote district of Ishkashim, I always questioned whether I could compete with students from big cities and fancy schools.

World Blood Donor Day is an occasion dedicated to raising awareness about the critical need for safe blood and blood products. These inspiring tales of service and survival highlight the profound impact that a simple act of donating blood can have on individuals facing life-threatening conditions. From Salim Amlani's journey with thalassemia, where the support of dedicated donors ensured his survival, to Munira Premji's courageous battle against multiple cancers, made possible by timely blood transfusions, and Ronil Shivji's commitment to donating plasma, these stories serve as a testament to the power of compassion and the vital importance of blood donation.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the mountains of Naryn and Khorog, the University of Central Asia's Class of 2023 will graduate on 16 June during a multi-campus convocation event, which will be aired live on The Ismaili TV.

Are you an analytic individual with a passion for turning data into actionable recommendations? The Ismaili is looking for a data analyst with a deep interest in social media analytics tools. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Campaign Managers to drive data-informed decision-making. A time commitment of approximately 2-4 hours per week may be required with a certain degree of schedule flexibility.
