The Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum (LIF) has announced that Mawlana Hazar Imam, at the invitation of the Government, has confirmed that he will visit Canada in early May 2018.
The Ismaili Council for France, French NGO La Chaîne de l’Espoir, and the Aga Khan Development Network hosted an event on 10 April 2018 to present Dr Lee Hilling’s book A Place of Miracles. The event was held at the Afghan Embassy in Paris and was attended by representatives from the diplomatic and civil society sectors.

As part of the Diamond Jubilee Lecture Series, The Ismaili Centre, London, in collaboration with the Aga Khan Foundation, will host a conversation with Jesse Fripp, General Manager of the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance, and Maria Largey, Director and Head of Financial Institutions at the CDC Group, moderated by Yasmin Alibhai-Brown. In a moment that was uniquely historic for the entire Jamat, Mawlana Hazar Imam granted a Diamond Jubilee Darbar in Nairobi, Kenya on the very same grounds where the Imam had been installed during his Takht Nashini in 1957 when he acceded to the Imamat. This was also the same site where Mawlana Hazar Imam celebrated both his Silver and Golden Jubilees.

Pahela Boishakh literally means the first day of Boishakh. Boishakh is the first month of the Bengali Calendar and it falls on the 14 April, each year. With the arrival of our 46th Imam Hasanali Shah in India in the mid nineteenth century from Iran, there was a turning point in Ismaili history. The Imamat base shifted from Iran to India, and remained here till our 48th Imam Sultan Mahomed Shah shifted base to Europe in the early 20th Century. Various structures and monuments were established and maintained during this period in India. ’The Heritage walk’, one of the programs by the Communications team of the National Council for India aims to make our community and particularly the youth aware of the importance of our cultural and historical heritage and inculcate a sense of pride and appreciation of our historic cultural heritage. It also aims to help the community develop a harmonious relationship with our historical past. In pursuit of this objective, the Communications team has been regularly conducting walks in three historic areas of Darkhana, Agahall and Hasanabad in Mumbai since June 2017.

The World of the Fatimids, the newest exhibition at the Aga Khan Museum, launched on 12 March in Toronto. Prince Amyn delivered the keynote address for the opening of the exhibition, which explores the Fatimid period through artefacts and objects from the 10th and 11th centuries.
