Preparations for Hazar Imam’s imminent arrival in Kenya stepped up almost immediately, with committees, task forces and a large troupe of volunteers establishing a working system to pool together resources. Volunteers offered their time to ready Nairobi for the visit of Hazar Imam, as well as Jamats from centres around Kenya and jurisdiction jamats.
Operating within a tight window of two weeks, both young and old have selflessly dedicated hours of service across committees – from security to hospitality, from transport to catering, from entertainment to registration and from hall preparation to health care – and are all working in sync to ensure the comfort and safety of the Jamat.
During Mawlana Hazar Imam’s visit to Nairobi, the Ismaili Council for Kenya will host Jamati members from countries under its jurisdiction, namely Rwanda, Burundi, South Africa and Namibia, as well as specially invited Jamats from the Republic of Malagasy and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
