Your Mission
Step one: Think about faith and answer the following questions:
- Who has taught us about din and duniya? What does it mean?
- What else have you learned about din and duniya?
- How do you express your faith?
- What are some important values and principles of Islam that Hazar Imam reminds us of?
- What is the difference between esoteric and exoteric?
Step two: Story time!
- Based on your questions you’re going to make three stories. But here’s the catch, each story can only have six words! Your stories are going to be inspired by the words you used to answer the questions in step one.
- Your story must be about the spiritual essence of our faith as you understand and practice it.
- Your stories can be in any language(s), emotional or intellectual, simple or complex, descriptive or abstract. There are no boundaries...except that they are six words long!
Need some insipiration? Here are some examples:
- My Mawla makes my heart sing.
- Alone and scared, Tasbih offers grace.
- Hazar Imam’s arms embrace the world.
Dinner time discussion:
- What does it mean to be a Shia Ismaili Muslim?
- What themes are reflected in your own six-word stories (e.g., love, openness, gratitude, etc.)? Why do you think those themes emerged? How do those themes connect with your personal values?
- How are the themes reflected in those of your family/friends the same or different?
