Service is an integral aspect of Global Encounters. Our Alumni Association seeks to continue to inspire alumni and the global jamat to engage in service and to call them to action.

Global Encounters is made possible by a large group of dedicated, energetic, and passionate volunteers, many of whom are alumni. Given that there are numerous streams of work that need to be undertaken to run the program, sustain its energy, and ensure excellence for the segments of the communities it serves, we are always looking for individuals to bring expertise, skill, and an unquenchable thirst for impact in the form of sustained voluntary service. Check out our current opportunities for those who wish to serve.

This cycle will have alumni partner with SunCulture - an organization that provides life-changing technology for smallholder farmers. Learn more here: www.sunculture.com.

This cycle will run from May 7 2022 to June 25, 2022 wherein consultants will collaborate with the organization and the team through weekly sessions and workshops as well as have an opportunity to work independently during the rest of the week.

#OneJamatServes

Our #OneJamatServes campaign launched during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic called on youth from all over the world to initiate, encourage, and share acts of service and kindness that were appropriate in today’s new context of physical distancing.

The campaign yielded over 200 posts from around the world and spread joy, love, and peace through small acts of service.

Our Alumni Association is currently working on building platforms through which our alumni can get involved.

One of our upcoming projects includes a service learning lab that will bring together alumni to consult on constructing solutions in a project-based manner for real-world organisations.

Stay tuned!
