The Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum announced on Saturday that Mawlana Hazar Imam, at the invitation of the Governments of Uganda and Tanzania, has confirmed that he will visit both countries in early October. Details of the visits will be shared once confirmed.

The Communications National Task Force and the Jamati Programs and Activities National Task Force, in conjunction with ITREB, AKEB, and YSP are pleased to announce to the Jamat that Al-Waez Hussain Jasani, will be delivering a series of programmes for the benefit of the Jamat.

Kampala, 17 December 2015 — The Aga Khan University will build a world-class teaching hospital in the heart of Kampala on land granted by the Government of Uganda, announced Mawlana Hazar Imam today. Together with the President and Prime Minister of Uganda, he took part in ceremonies marking the granting of land and initiation of the new University Hospital in Kampala.

Entebbe, 16 December 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Uganda today ahead of an expected event announcing plans for a new Aga Khan University Hospital to be established in Kampala.

In the past, when an individual was diagnosed with cancer or heart disease, the options for treatment in East Africa were limited. But as the footprint of the Aga Khan University has expanded, new facilities and trained health specialists are making quality care accessible in the region.

Entebbe, Uganda, 8 October 2012 – Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Entebbe today for the opening of the Bujagali Hydropower Project and to participate in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Uganda’s independence.

Mawlana Hazar Imam attended a dinner with the Jamati and institutional leaders of Uganda held at the Kampala Serena Hotel. During the evening, President Huzur Mukhi Mohamed Lalani presented Hazar Imam a gift of an incense burner cover from Khorasan shaped in the form of a horse head, on behalf of those gathered.

Kampala, 13 July 2011 – This morning Mawlana Hazar Imam met with the Uganda Jamat at Kampala Jamatkhana, before travelling to inspect the construction of the Bujagali Hydroelectric power dam. Yesterday, Hazar Imam attended a dinner with the Jamati and institutional leaders of Uganda.

Kampala, 12 July – Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Uganda this morning for a Jamati visit. Eagerly awaiting the Imam, the Uganda Jamat has been busy making preparations for his visit, and celebrating with traditional festivities.
