On this special occasion of the 65th Imamat Day of Mawlana Hazar Imam, The Ismaili is pleased to present Nur Un Ala Nur. Composed by Salim-Sulaiman, this devotional offering brings together, for the first time, globally renowned and award-winning Ismaili artists who take us through a soul-stirring and reflective expression honouring our 49 Imams.
The Persian word khudavind or khudawand means, “a king, prince, lord, master; or man of great authority.” Many Persian and Central Asian empires used this term throughout history to refer to people of high standing, including, at times, the sultan (ruler), wazir, government officials, and patrons.
ICAB conversation
The Ismaili International Conciliation and Arbitration Board (ICAB) presents a conversation between ICAB Chair Zulie Sachedina, Dr Azim Nanji, Dr Gurdofarid Miskinzoda, and Dr Shainool Jiwa on the topic of natural justice and equity as it relates to ethical wealth transfer and inheritance planning.
An Ismaili Imamat delegation led by Prince Rahim is attending the Ocean Conference in Lisbon at the invitation of the United Nations (UN). The conference aims to raise awareness and action around the alarming degradation of the planet’s oceans – which not only provide us with oxygen, food and livelihoods, but act as a giant carbon sink.

In the 1990s, the United Nations launched a financial literacy course to help families develop a budget and organise their savings. Word soon began to spread, and the course gained in popularity. Today, members of the Jamat across the world are both delivering the course content and benefiting from it alike.
In May 2020, while the world was in lockdown, The Ismaili TV hosted a virtual Shukrana Concert to commemorate Eid ul-Fitr. To prepare, the organising team issued a call out for song submissions, hoping for a few hours worth of content. The response was overwhelming. A new platform was soon created to showcase the musical talent of the Jamat – and thus, two years ago this week, The Ismaili Sounds was born.
To coincide with World Music Day, The Ismaili is pleased to present The Ismaili Sounds: Jam Sessions, a platform to showcase live and mellow performances. The first release, Ya Ali Madad [Reprise] by The Sufistics, expresses the belief that adversities can be overcome by keeping one’s faith close by.
Access to English language learning opportunities in Afghanistan has long been uneven and limited, especially in the most remote areas. Yet, proficiency in English is essentially important to compete for the highest quality education and the best employment opportunities. A new language programme, developed in Canada, is helping to increase high-quality access at an exponential rate.
