Ethics in Action: The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) held inaugural launch events in Islamabad and Karachi, Pakistan. Taking the form of an interactive exhibition, Ethics in Action provides a glimpse into the human dimension of the Ismaili Imamat’s efforts to improve quality of life.

A little over a year ago, the Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board for Pakistan launched a sports training programme, which proved to be popular and successful ahead of the 2016 Jubilee Games. This winter, the Youth and Sports Board expanded the programme to include golf, ice skating and ice hockey.

2 November 2015 — The powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake that struck the Jurm District of Badakhshan Province in Afghanistan on 26 October has affected large parts of Afghanistan, Northern Pakistan and Tajikistan. Many populations in the region of the Hindu Kush mountain range have suffered the consequences of this calamity, including Ismaili communities.

Gouvieux, France, 13 May 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam has expressed shock and sadness in the wake of an attack on a bus carrying members of the Ismaili community on their way to work in Karachi, Pakistan, that left 43 people dead. “This attack represents a senseless act of violence against a peaceful community,” said Mawlana Hazar Imam.
