Global Encounters Camps
Each Global Encounters Camp has a unique feel, however, there are comon threads that runs through each programme. Each programme believes in experiential learning and service learning. Participants will have the opporuntity to work with and learn from local orgnisations while working on service projects with community members. We truly believe in the African proverb “If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.”
Global Encounters Camp Pakistan
Global Encounters Pakistan is the newest of our international camps. Pakistan is a beautiful and diverse country with a deep and extensive Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) footprint. Participants experience live at the Aga Khan University in Karachi or the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School in Hunza. Participants experience the bustling city of Karachi, engage with the Jamat in Sindh, participate in workshops covering innovations in medicine led by AKU's faculty and arts and culture of the country from skilled artisans, and explore Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) projects in Lahore and Hunza . Participants volunteer in local communities and schools in projects supporting poverty alleviation, urban health, early childhood development, education, and care for the elderly.
