As part of Global Ismaili CIVIC Day 2024, Ismaili CIVIC Bangladesh launched a seed distribution initiative to support farmers affected by recent devastating floods. The campaign commenced in Sowagazi, Adorsho Sadar, Cumilla, with seeds of various vegetables and fruits distributed to flood-affected farmers.

Over the following week, the initiative expanded to assist farmers in multiple areas, including Botgram, Sultanpur, Suwarkhil, Pipulia, Telikona, and Harichar in Cumilla district, as well as Charbongshi, Kuchiamora in Lakshmipur, and Sonaimuri in Noakhali. This widespread effort aims to provide farmers with the means to regain their livelihoods and rebuild their lives.

The distributed seeds are designed to last farmers over a year, offering a sustainable solution to the agricultural challenges posed by the floods. This initiative is a key component of a broader flood rehabilitation plan by Ismaili CIVIC Bangladesh, reflecting their commitment to standing in solidarity with affected communities.

By empowering farmers with the tools to cultivate their land again, the initiative not only addresses immediate food security concerns but also fosters long-term resilience within these communities. This effort underscores the spirit of Global Ismaili CIVIC Day, which is dedicated to promoting civic engagement and supporting those in need.

Ismaili CIVIC Bangladesh continues to demonstrate how collective action can bring hope and recovery to those impacted by natural disasters.
