The new Ismaili Center in Houston will express in physical form the Jamat’s commitment to building a pluralist society and finding ways to unite diverse people and cultures. The Center’s design is contemporary, yet reflects a historically rooted, rich architectural heritage. It combines modern architectural technology with traditional Persian forms and ornament, including ceramic mosaics and mashrabiya screens.
Six award winning projects were honoured during the Aga Khan Award for Architecture prize-giving ceremony held at the Musa Jalil Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan, in the Russian Federation. The Aga Khan Award for Architecture is one of the oldest and most prestigious awards in architecture.

Shimmering bright on the evening of 12 December 2018, the Ismaili Jamatkhana and Centre, Khorog opened its doors to the Jamat on the eve of Salgirah. At the foot of the Pamir mountains, and situated beside Khorog City Park and the Gunt River, the Centre provides a purpose-built space for congregation, contemplation, and contribution to civil society.
During their visit to Pakistan in October 2018, Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa examined approaches to poverty alleviation and development, and visited a number of AKDN institutions and projects aimed at improving quality of life.
18 September 2018 - Paris, France: President Emmanuel Macron today received Mawlana Hazar Imam at the Élysée Palace in Paris - the official office and residence of the President of France. A guard of honour by the Republican Guard was on display, as Hazar Imam was welcomed by the French President.
Today marked day six of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration - Lisboa 2018, which included Mawlana Hazar Imam's address to the Portuguese Parliament, the inauguration of the Aga Khan Museum exhibition at the Parliament Building, as well as the afternoon and evening Sufi Voyage concerts featuring Salim-Sulaiman, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Nobovar Chanorov.
