The English Language Connections (ELC) program aims to support teachers working with the Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), Ismaili Tariqah and Religious Education Board (ITREB) and Parwaz (an ECD program) in Afghanistan.

Access to consistent, good quality English language teaching is unpredictable in many areas around the globe, particularly in remote localities. Proficiency in the English language is essential and facilitates access to quality education, and opens up employment opportunities with tremendous growth potential. The English Language Connections was initiated with the purpose to bridge the gap between skills and opportunity.

The English Language Connections (ELC) program was initiated as a pilot program to support 100 teachers working with the Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), Ismaili Tariqah and Religious Education Board (ITREB) and Parwaz (an ECD program) in Afghanistan. The ELC program enables educators from across the Globe to collaborate with and support program teams in Afghanistan. ⠀

Recruitment of volunteers is now underway for qualified educators to join the Virtual ELC program team.
