Connect Create Cairo is an exhibition and workshop that uses 3D printing technology to get people thinking about the past, present and future of cities and urban spaces. Recently held at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto, the exhibition gave participants a chance to become urban planners and conceive their own design solutions.
Lisbon, 20 March 2015 — The High Commission for Immigration and Intercultural Dialogue and the General Directorate for Education hosted, for the second time, the Intercultural School Stamp Ceremony at the Ismaili Centre.

Vancouver, 19 March 2015 — At the Ismaili Centre in Vancouver, Dr Amyn Sajoo, Scholar-in-Residence at Simon Fraser University’s Centre for the Comparative Study of Muslim Societies and Cultures, conducted an interactive session on the topic of “Sectarianism: Ethical Dilemmas Facing Muslims”.
Toronto, 18 March 2015 — The Faith & Place Exhibit, an exhibition that explores ancient social and cultural similarities between faiths in Northern India, is a partnership between the Ismaili Council for Canada, the Aga Khan Museum and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. The exhibition is on display until 8 April 2015 at the Ismaili Centre Toronto's Exhibition Hall.
Vancouver, 17 March 2015 — The Honourable Teresa Wat, British Columbia’s Minister for International Trade and Minister Responsible for Asia-Pacific Strategy and Multiculturalism, led a roundtable discussion with the province’s South Asian business professionals at the Ismaili Centre.
Toronto, 14 March 2015 — The Aga Khan Economic Planning Board for Ontario’s Start-Up Showcase was held at the Ismaili Centre on 14 March 2015 and profiled eight dynamic companies. Each of the emerging entrepreneurs showcased their business ideas to a panel of judges who provided constructive feedback on the venture and marketing plan.
Toronto, 13 March 2015 — Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Michael Coteau, the Minister Responsible for the 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games and Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, toured the Ismaili Centre and the Aga Khan Museum.
3 March 2015 — RAYS OF LIGHT: Glimpses into the Ismaili Imamat, concluded its tour of Australia and New Zealand in Auckland at the end of February. In addition to the Jamat, a number of leaders from government, civil society and academia visited the exhibition, and expressed their admiration for the work of Mawlana Hazar Imam and the institutions of the Ismaili Imamat.
Dubai, 11 March 2015 — The Consul General of Tajikistan, His Excellency Abdurahmon Ayubov, visited the Ismaili Centre and met with the President of the Ismaili Council for the UAE.

Toronto, 17 February 2015 — A teaching and community building architectural exhibition and associated 3D printing workshops titled Connect, Create, Cairo is being held at the Ismaili Centre Toronto from 9 November 2014 until end of February 2015. Using a novel exhibition concept that includes an architectural model of historic Cairo and the emerging technologies of 3D printing, the exhibition and workshops explore contemporary issues facing cities and urban spaces through a look at Cairo’s historic Islamic architecture and urbanism.

Victoria, Canada, 11 February 2015 — Representing the Ismaili Muslim community of British Columbia, Sherali Hussein opened a new session of parliament at the province’s Legislative Assembly with the recitation of Surah al-Fatiha on Tuesday.
In November 2014, the Right Honourable Kim Campbell, Canada’s 19th Prime Minister, delivered a lecture at the Ismaili Centre, Burnaby on the topic of Building Civil Societies: The Role of Women Leaders. Ms Campbell is the first woman to have become Prime Minister of Canada as well as the country’s first female Defense Minister and Minister of Justice.
