On 12 December 2017, the National Council for Uganda and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) hosted a lecture event to commemorate Milad-un-Nabi, a celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This event, held at Kampala Serena, was attended by number of dignitaries, including the Second Deputy Prime Minister Ali Kirunda Kivejinja and Mufti Shaban Ramathan Mubajje.
Earlier today, Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as part of his Diamond Jubilee visit to India. He was received by local government officials and leaders of the Jamat.
