H.E. Maryam Mattar, recognized as one of the ‘100 smartest people in the UAE’, and as the ‘most powerful scientist in the UAE’, and amongst the top 20 Arab scientists with the biggest contribution to humanity by British Scientific Community 2016, visited Ismaili Centre Dubai.
In line with our partnership series, the Diplomatic Outreach team organised the Ismaili Centre Annual Suhoor in collaboration with the Embassy of Afghanistan, Abu Dhabi and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, Kabul.
Join us on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 for Doors Open Toronto, the annual showcase of some of the most architecturally, historically and culturally significant buildings across the city. Complimentary tours of the Centre will take place between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm on both Days -- last admittance at 4:30 pm and registration not required.

For the fifth year in a row, the Ismaili Centre, Toronto participated in Doors Open Toronto, an annual event coordinated by the City of Toronto.
In honour of Ramadan, the Ismaili Council for Ontario Women’s Portfolio, the Canadian Council of Muslim Women – Toronto Chapter and the Muslim Awards for Excellence Women in Leadership welcome all to an inspiring evening of conversation and connection followed by food and friendship at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto.
The Women’s Portfolio for the Ismaili Council of Ontario in partnership with the Canadian Council of Muslim Women – Toronto Chapter (CCMW – Toronto) and Muslim Awards for Excellence, Women in Leadership (MAX WIL) came together for our first Iftar collaboration at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto.
Beloved Toronto Mayor John Tory attended a community Iftar at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto. Guests included various Ummah leaders (Iranian, Tajik, Afghan and Syrian), Ismaili CIVIC service partners, government and civil society leaders and other Jamati members.
Over 65 investors attended an event at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto, to gain insight into Uganda as a potential investment opportunity. The evening commenced with opening remarks from Ismaili Council for Ontario President, Sheherzade Hirji, welcoming the Uganda High Commissioner to Canada, Ambassador Joy Ruth Acheng, her Deputy Head of Mission, and attendees. Following this, the audience enjoyed a presentation by Her Excellency that discussed Uganda’s growing economy in multiple sectors.
The Ismaili Centre Mental Health Series - Minding the Gap: Conversations on Mental Health from Stigma to Treatment Innovation is dedicated to sharing ideas and discussions about mental health in our society in collaboration with leading professionals, academics, and experts in the field. Join us for the second event in this three-part series for a conversation on Access to Mental Health Care. Approximately 1 in 4 people in Ontario who need mental health care struggle to access it. Let’s explore what access to mental health care looks like, how to access it, and the innovative resources that are being developed to facilitate this process. Although this is a complimentary event, registration is required.
The Ismaili Centre, Toronto held its second of a three-part series on mental health. This event was titled, “Minding the Gap: A Conversation on Access to Mental Health Care”.
Six onstage conversations at the nexus of citizenship, identity & religion. Hosted by the Ismaili Centres in Vancouver & Toronto, and co-sponsored by Simon Fraser University, the conversations will be conducted by Dr. Amyn Sajoo, Scholar-in-Residence, SFU Centre for the Comparative Study of Muslim Societies & Cultures.
The Refugee Women’s Network held a summit entitled “Empowering Women” at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto. Refugee Women’s Network is a registered Canadian charity established in 2016, to provide a response to the needs of an influx of refugees settling in Toronto and the GTA by breaking the language barrier through education, advocacy and supportive programs.
