Toronto, 25 May 2015 — The Aga Khan Park was inaugurated by the Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam. During the ceremony they unveiled a ceremonial plaque to mark the occasion.

Toronto, 25 May 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne signed a historic Agreement of Cooperation between the province and the Ismaili Imamat today. The agreement reflects the shared concerns of the Ismaili Imamat and the Government of Ontario for society’s most vulnerable populations, and a desire to support the advancement of people and collaborate in fields of mutual interest such as education.
The Aga Khan Park will be inaugurated by the Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam on Monday, 25 May 2015. The webcast is expected to commence at 3:30 PM Toronto time.
When Vladimir Djurovic received the commission to design the Aga Khan Park in Toronto, he travelled to gardens in different parts of the Muslim world. In an interview he gave to TheIsmaili.org, the landscape architect describes the essence of this new greenspace, which will be formally inaugurated on Monday.
Gouvieux, France, 13 May 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam has expressed shock and sadness in the wake of an attack on a bus carrying members of the Ismaili community on their way to work in Karachi, Pakistan, that left 43 people dead. “This attack represents a senseless act of violence against a peaceful community,” said Mawlana Hazar Imam.
Cairo, 2 May 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam was in Egypt to attend an event marking the restoration of the 14th century Aqsunqur Mosque. Work on Cairo’s “Blue Mosque” was completed by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture as part of its Al-Darb al-Ahmar Urban Regeneration Programme.
During his visit to India earlier this month, Mawlana Hazar Imam and his family visited the Qutb Shahi Heritage Park, where conservation work is being carried out by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. Days earlier, Hazar Imam and and his family had toured Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi.
Members of the British Parliament invited the Ismaili Muslim community to mark the festival of Navroz at the Houses of Parliament last month. The fourth annual Navroz reception took place on 17 March in the Terrace Pavilion at the House of Commons.

Hyderabad, India, 10 April 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam visited the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad today, to review the progress of the school. He was accompanied by Prince Aly Muhammad, Princess Zahra and her children, Sara and Iliyan.
Delhi, 7 April 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam and Dr Mahesh Sharma, India’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, presided over the foundation ceremony of a site museum to be situated at the Humayun’s Tomb complex.
