The opening ceremony of the Aga Khan Museum took place on 12 September 2014, following the opening of the Ismaili Centre, Toronto earlier in the afternoon by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mawlana Hazar Imam. Mawlana Hazar Imam visited the Parliament of the Republic of Portugal, where he was greeted by the President of the Assembly of the Republic. Hazar Imam is in Lisbon at the invitation of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, to receive the 2013 North-South Prize.
