Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Sonia said she took up this career after being inspired by many Ismailis who are already in this profession.
Sonia's current work involves caring for patients who are Covid-19 positive. She said, thanks to the ongoing pandemic, patients and their families have started recognizing the efforts put by healthcare workers and are also understanding the importance of healthcare systems including nurses who are considered the backbone.
Sonia’s advice for the Jamat is to "Wash your hands carefully so that we can stay safe and keep others safe. Many are staying home, so it's time to explore new things and learn new skills. The fight against the Covid-19 pandemic has intensified and we will get through this soon."
