Canada’s Governor General opened a two-day conference at the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat in Ottawa that aims to raise the profile of higher education on the global development agenda. Attendees from more than 20 countries and a dozen universities gathered to discuss how tertiary education can improve quality of life.

Lisbon, 17 March 2016 — Prince Amyn was at the National Museum of Ancient Art yesterday, to formalise a donation by the Aga Khan Foundation towards the museum’s acquisition of a national Portuguese cultural treasure. The contribution supports a campaign to acquire a painting by Domingos Sequeira, who is considered one of the best Portuguese artists of his time.

Kampala, 17 December 2015 — The Aga Khan University will build a world-class teaching hospital in the heart of Kampala on land granted by the Government of Uganda, announced Mawlana Hazar Imam today. Together with the President and Prime Minister of Uganda, he took part in ceremonies marking the granting of land and initiation of the new University Hospital in Kampala.
