ITREB UK invites applications for the role of Primary Religious Education Officer to lead on religious formation, and the development and implementation of quality primary religious education (RE) initiatives, focussing on curriculum, teaching and learning, and parental and community engagement across the UK Jurisdiction.

Location: London, UK with some travel across the UK and mainland Europe

Contract: 3-years

Hours: Full Time, including some weekends

Deadline: Sunday 26 September 2021

The role will support the teaching of the IIS Ta`lim curriculum to Ismaili students and wider Jamati engagement initiatives in the UK and Europe and will entail overseeing quality delivery through classroom based as well as online/remote teaching, episodic and other implementation strategies. The Primary Education Officer will also contribute to the effective planning of sound complementary RE programmes to meet the needs of students and community members and to develop a pool of voluntary teachers and teacher educators within the UK jurisdiction Baitul Ilms. 

The ideal candidate will have a degree in social sciences, preferably in Islamic Studies or Education, including educational leadership, education management or teacher education. They will have familiarity or experience with Primary Religious Education and the Ta`lim curriculum alongside experience of working with, managing and developing volunteers.
