HBL Bank and Jubilee Life Insurance, both part of the AKFED portfolio, have provided food rations and waterproof tents to more than 12,000 families.

Lisbon, Portugal, 4 September 2022 – The Ismaili Imamat has announced it will be donating US$10 million to support relief efforts following the severe flooding in Pakistan.  $5m will be donated directly to the Government of Pakistan while a further $5m will be provided to the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) agencies in the country, which are engaged in the relief efforts.

An AKDN helicopter has been delivering food and relief items to stranded families in inaccessible regions.

However, teachers and schools often find themselves left out of the key conversations on how to support children and young people to access quality learning. This year’s Schools2030 conference in Dar-es-Salaam aimed to rectify this.

On behalf of the global Ismaili Jamat, a gift was presented to Mawlana Hazar Imam on the joyous occasion of his 65th Imamat Day. The gift, as mentioned by Hazar Imam in his Imamat Day Talika, is an ‘alam, or processional standard, from Safavid Persia, dating to 1651 CE. Learn more about this special gift in this short video.
