Architecture Conference brought together global leaders to explore the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, featuring a dynamic panel of past recipients who shared insights on architectural excellence and its international impact.

SELANGOR, MALAYSIA -  The SHIFT2024 International Architecture Conference successfully took place on September 21 and 22, 2024, at the Taylor's University Lakeside Campus in Selangor, Malaysia. Organized by the DOMA Initiatives Architecture Foundation, the event brought together leaders from nine international architecture firms representing countries such as France, India, Japan, and South Korea. Attendees engaged in discussions that delved into the rigorous processes of nomination and evaluation for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (AKAA), highlighting the award's significant impact on finalists and recipients.

The launch event featured an insightful panel discussion with notable figures in architecture, including past award recipients and technical reviewers. Panelists like Kamil Merican, Laurence Loh, and Farrokh Derakhshani shared their valuable experiences and perspectives on the AKAA process. Their contributions fostered a deeper understanding of architectural excellence and its recognition on an international scale, sparking engaging conversations among participants.

Following the conference, an AKAA exhibition opened to the public from September 23 to October 4, 2024. This exhibition showcased outstanding architectural projects recognized by the award, allowing attendees to appreciate innovative designs and cultural contributions in architecture. The conference and exhibition together created a vibrant platform for dialogue and inspiration within the architectural community.
