On behalf of the Ismaili Community Engaged in Responsible Volunteering (I-CERV), President of the Council for the Southwestern United States, Murad Ajani, was honoured as a Points of Light recipient at a concert on 21 October at Texas A&M University.
The Leaders’ International Forum (LIF) announced Friday that Mawlana Hazar Imam will visit Canada in November this year. In addition to presiding over the inaugural Global Centre for Pluralism (GCP) Award ceremony in Ottawa and attending meetings of the GCP Board, Mawlana Hazar Imam will meet with Eastern Canada Jamats in the jurisdictions of the Councils of Ontario, Ottawa, Quebec, and Maritime Provinces.

In a speech at the Canadian Parliament in 2014, Mawlana Hazar Imam spoke of the contributions made by Time and Knowledge Nazrana (TKN) volunteers and said “The importance of contributing one’s individual energies on a voluntary basis to improving the lives of others is not a matter of philanthropy, but rather of self-fulfilment... their impact has been enormous in helping us to achieve best practice standards in our institutions and programmes”

Earlier today, Mawlana Hazar Imam met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This evening, Mawlana Hazar Imam will be honoured by the United Nations Foundation as a Champion for Global Change at their annual Global Leadership Dinner.
Mawlana Hazar Imam departed from Tanzania on 12 October after completing his second Diamond Jubilee visit.
