This 58-minute film recounts the preparations by the Portugal Jamat, the Diamond Jubilee Celebration, and the programme undertaken by Mawlana Hazar Imam during his visit.

Marking the historic occasion of his Diamond Jubilee, Mawlana Hazar Imam delivered an address to the Portuguese Parliament on 10 July 2018, in the presence of his family, government officials, and leaders of the Jamat and AKDN. Following the address, Hazar Imam toured an exhibition entitled Ideals of Leadership: Masterpieces from the Aga Khan Museum Collections, hosted at the Parliament building, São Bento Palace in Lisbon.
President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa officially welcomed Mawlana Hazar Imam to Portugal on 9 July with full state honours at Palácio de Belém, the official residence of the President. Before entering the presidential palace on Monday, Mawlana Hazar Imam and President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa paused to observe the Portugal Army Band’s rendition of the Portuguese National Anthem and the Nashid al-Imamah.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Lisbon this afternoon to mark the conclusion of his Diamond Jubilee year, commemorating 60 years of his Imamat. Upon his arrival at the airport, Mawlana Hazar Imam was presented with military honours by the Air Base Commander and was greeted by state and government officials as well as leaders of the Jamat and the Aga Khan Development Network.
Mawlana Hazar Imam visited London in June 2018 for his Diamond Jubilee visit to the United Kingdom. The full film of the visit is now available online. This 36-minute film recounts the preparations by the UK Jamat, and the programme undertaken by Mawlana Hazar Imam during his visit.
The Aga Khan Centre was opened by HRH the Prince of Wales in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam on 26 June 2018, at an inauguration ceremony to coincide with Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee visit to the UK. Mawlana Hazar Imam was joined by Prince Amyn, Princess Zahra, Prince Rahim, Princess Salwa, Prince Hussain, and Prince Aly Muhammad, for a momentous occasion in the history of the Ismaili Imamat and the global Jamat.
Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in London on 25 June 2018 for his Diamond Jubilee visit to the United Kingdom. Upon his arrival, Mawlana Hazar Imam was received by Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the United Nations, Liakat Hasham, President of the Ismaili Council for the UK, and other Jamati leaders. Following a military salute, the Royal Imperial Military Band played the Nashid al-Imamah and the British National Anthem.
