Healthy Hints
Gram flour is made from chick peas and this is a source of fibre and low fat protein. Choosing to use spray oil helps you keep an eye on added fat — try to limit to about two seconds of spraying either side of each chilla.

Directions
1. In a medium bowl, combine all of the above ingredients, except the oil spray.
2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly into a smooth batter, using an electric mixer or a whisk. The consistency should be similar to thin cream. Ensure that the batter has no lumps.
3. Heat a 6-inch non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and spray with oil.
4. Pour four tablespoons of the batter into the pan to make one chilla (5 inches in diameter). You may find using a ladle easier to do this.
5. Swirl the batter around to evenly coat the base of the pan. Cook for 2 minutes.
6. Spray the top of the chilla with oil and turn it over to cook the other side. Cook for an additional 2 minutes or until golden brown.
Chillas can be served hot or cold.
