You will all remember the time the Ismaili TV was launched in Spring 2020, when most of us were in full or partial lockdown. It provided, aside from entertainment, reassurance to get weekly updates from the institutions of our jurisdictions and also immense comfort to watch films of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s past Jubilees and various visits, which reminded of times when our lives were somewhat different. We even had the chance on June 19th to introduce our own Spanish Jamat to Ismailis around the world. Perhaps above all, the Ismaili TV has given us that sense that we are One Jamat, full of rich diversity.

The content of Ismaili TV, now with several months under its belt, has evolved and been vastly enriched. Many of you might be familiar with the variety of programs it offers, but for those who haven’t been tapping into it lately, we hope this note will encourage you to take a fresh look at the site https://tv.ismaili

As a community we are fortunate to have an immense pool of professionals across the board that are not only ready to give of their time for the benefit of us all, but can also pull in leading experts from their professional sphere. We are able to listen to and participate with questions in live webinars with top professionals, intellectuals, professors, civic leaders and the like from the comfort of our homes. Furthermore, if you miss a live program or webinar, it can be seen through the section “On Demand”.

A whole range of subjects can be found on the Ismaili TV: science, personal development, career development, general education and religious education for all ages, parenting, health issues (including those relevant to mental health issues).  You will also find exercise classes for the young and not so young, Qigong, kid’s clubs, art courses, language courses, cooking programs and lots of concerts and music.

Here is how you can make your selection: by category, by country, by year or language.

Our institutions are aware of the challenges and opportunities the near future will impose on us and some of the content that is found in the Ismaili TV is directed to keep us up to date and hear what experts in their fields have to say. To give you an example, according to the World Economic Forum, 50% of employees will need to up-skill by 2022, not only due to the economic effects of the pandemic, but also to the fast technological changes and advancements taking place in our midst. You will find several webinars titled “The future of work and business”, “Careers of the Future”, “Technology and opportunities”, that will assist you in making decisions.

In the terrain of Science, the program Science & Technology Unleashed covers superbly how the latest technological advancements will change Medicine, health care and many other aspects of our lives. It also includes interviews to exceptional members of the Jamat in the field of Science.

The above are only two examples of the array of possibilities you find. Explore the “On Demand” programs of Ismaili TV and you’ll be very pleasantly surprised.
