In Lisbon, we are fortunate to have a richly diverse Jamat that reflects the beauty of this global tradition. To honor this heritage, ITREB Portugal invites you to "Echoes of Diversity," a unique poetry recitation series showcasing heartfelt devotional poetry in languages such as Arabic, Burushaski, Dari, English, Gujarati, Khowar, Persian, Sindhi, Urdu, and more. This event is designed to bring our Jamat closer together through the universal language of poetry.
The first event of the series will feature a special presentation by Shaheen Tejani, a gifted poet who draws inspiration from her journey as a Khoja Ismaili Muslim refugee, her roots in Indian culture, and her profound connection to the mystical beauty of devotional poetry. Shaheen’s reflections will illuminate the importance of diversity and the timeless power of poetry as a bridge between the intellect, the heart, and the spiritual self.
