The position

The Property Manager - Pakistan, will undertake a collation and assessment of all properties owned/held by AKDN agencies within Pakistan. S/he will work with all stakeholders and agencies, as appropriate, to explore and provide viable options for property holdings.

Key Duties will fall into 3 broad areas:

Legal

  • Collating and updating all property-related documentation; including Title Deeds, Land Surveys, Leases etc.
  • Providing support as appropriate on all legal matters pertaining to property holdings.

Technical/Administrative

  • Develop a robust and evolving set of policies and procedures relating to property development and management and implement and monitor these with AKDN Agencies.
  • Constantly review opportunities for asset optimisation.
  • Assist the various property users in preparing annual budgets (and longer-term) to ensure optimal investment in upkeep.
  • Develop & present proposals for property enhancements and development and review any such proposals developed within the institutions/agencies in Pakistan.
  • Maintain the repository of all relevant documentation.
  • Preparing appropriate check-lists and guidance for regional teams to conduct property condition assessments. 
  • Develop and implement auditable SOP’s for Health, Safety and Security, based on local and global best practice.

Other

  • Lead on Property-related projects based on local, regional or global initiatives.
  • Engaging with AKDN agencies to encourage and foster intra-agency cooperation, asset usage and development.
  • Create an informal network of those individuals responsible for property matters within AKDN agencies – share best practice and promote professional development.
  • Build a network of advisors and experts, both volunteer and commercial, and be the point of contact for all property-related matters

The requirements

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience, working in a complex setting in a medium / large organization, especially with a hands-on experience of real estate matters across provinces (remotely).
  • Experience of handling all legal aspects of property ownership essential.
  • Broad property management and project management experience

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an internationally or nationally recognized university, preferably in either Engineering/Construction, Property Management or Law.
  • A Professional qualification in project management and data analysis would be desirable

Skills and Attitudes

  • Goal-oriented, data-driven, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong, supportive, and collaborative working relationships with internal team members, leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate professional and volunteer team members from diverse backgrounds often remotely.
  • Experience in writing actionable reports that build on input from multiple stakeholders, crafting proposals and related presentations, and developing other documentation.
  • Experience in setting, attaining, and/or measuring performance indicators and outcomes.
  • Experience in working with databases and analyzing data.
  • Experience in preparing programmatic budgets and key deliverables with programmatic approach.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure, meet stringent deadlines and work well in teams

Language Proficiency

  • Strong communication skills in English and Urdu (both oral and written); ability to understand regional languages will be an added advantage

Travel and Schedule

  • Willingness to sometimes work outside normal office hours and travel within Pakistan
