Ya Ali Madad,

It is with immense joy and happiness that the Institutions in Angola announce the re-opening of Luanda Jamatkhana, on next Tuesday, November 24th, subject to compliance with all measures recommended by the Angolan Health authorities.

We inform that Jamatkhana of Luanda will open at 6 pm and the religious ceremonies will start at 6.30 pm.

The COVID-19 pandemic requires that we all take a variety of precautions in our day-to-day lives, to protect ourselves and those around us.

With the re-opening of Luanda Jamatkhana, please take note of the security and health safety measures adopted by the Institutions:

1. To comply with the recommended social distance of 1,5 meters, the maximum capacities of each Prayer Hall have been adjusted, with alternative spaces being created to which volunteers will refer to Jamat members, if necessary. In Luanda Jamatkhana, the Prayer Hall and Social Hall will be available, which have been adapted to

accommodate the Jamat with maximum security and which will be filled in sequential order.

2. All common areas in Jamatkhana will be disinfected daily, after religious ceremonies, including all surfaces and chairs.

3. At the entrance to the Jamatkhana perimeter, body temperature will be measured, and alcohol gel will be applied to all Jamatí members.

4. Within the Prayer Hall and Social Hall, the only areas determined for prayers, all sitting places have been properly marked, with a physical distance of 1,5 meters.

4. For reasons of hygiene and safety, it will not be possible to use water dispensers.

Furthermore, other also important safety and health security measures have also been defined, which we urge the Jamat to comply, without exception, to guarantee the safety of all members:

1. Access to Jamatkhana can only be done with FACIAL SURGERY MASK, which should not be removed while staying in the Jamatkhana building and outside areas. The only exception will be children up to 10 years old.

2. At the entrance of the Prayer Hall and Social Hall, it will be mandatory to disinfect your hands with an alcohol-based disinfectant solution that will be provided. The disinfectant solution will be available in different places, so you can disinfect your hands whenever you think it is necessary, and you should do it at least twice: at the entrance

and exit of the Prayer Hall.

3. When you come to Jamatkhana, please take the necessary time to avoid congestion at the entrance when performing hand disinfection and temperature check.

4. The Institutions very humbly and respectfully request to any member of the Jamat who feels sick, with a body temperature above normal (> 38º) or with symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, tiredness, difficulty breathing, or muscle pain, to remain at home until felling normal and we urge to contact the Health Board member.

5. If you have been in contact with someone infected or suspected of Covid-19 infection, we also humbly request that you remain at home.

6. Following the recommendations of the Angolan Health authorities, we urge all Jamat members who belong to risk groups, namely people over 65 or with serious health problems, and children under the age of 5, to consider coming to Jamatkhana on less busy hence quieter days.

7. Only marked spaces should be used. We kindly ask all members of the Jamat to only use the chairs if they are unable to sit on the floor.

8. After being seated in a designated space or chair, you should NOT change places, as these are cleaned and disinfected every day after the religious ceremonies.

9. Children up to the age of 12 must be seated with their parents at all times and we request the parent’s cooperation to permanently monitor the children and to NOT circulate without supervision.

10. The Institutions very humbly and respectfully request all Jamat members to respect the indications given by the Volunteers, who have clear instructions to ensure and well-being and health safety of all Jamatí members.

11. At the end of the religious ceremonies, we urge all Jamati members to avoid social gatherings outside the Prayer Halls and to maintain the minimum social distance of 1,5 meters at all times. We also urge not to engage in social conversations in Jamatkhana facilities before or after the religious ceremonies.

We humbly remind all members of the Jamat that the adoption and maintenance of the above safety and health security measures are extremely important.

Also, it is critical to avoid ANY risk to the health and safety of the members of the Jamat.

The Institutions are monitoring the development of the Covid-19 pandemic in Angola daily and, if the circumstances change, new safety and health security measures may have to be undertaken.

We thank the Jamat for good discipline and collaboration.

Thank you

Ya Ali Madad.
