Ya Ali Madad.

We’re back this October with yet another Newsletter where we share interesting concepts from our Tariqah as well as discuss current activities relevant to the Angola Jamat.

We begin this issue exploring the origin of the Salawat, its history and why exactly we recite it. We should all strive to understand our faith and its traditions; we believe this article does a great job explaining why we recite this particular prayer so often, and why we ask the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) for his intercession on our behalf. It’s a fascinating article.

We continue with more worldly pursuits; On November 19th the Economic Planning Board (EPB) is holding a seminar on the Angolan Economy. The speaker is Standard Bank’s Chief Economist so we can expect important, fact-based information together with expert advice. Entrepreneurs and professionals should not miss this event. Check the article for more details.

Even if you can’t make it to the seminar, there’s still a solid outlook on the Angolan economy adapted from the Economist Intelligence Unit which the EPB was kind enough to share in this Newsletter. Read this article, reflect on it, and plan accordingly.

In order to live a good life we must have balance. Therefore, we are delighted to share a piece on the Principles of a Healthy Lifestyle. If you find yourself drained often, take a moment to read this article and implement the strategies it proposes. We are confident you will feel much more centered and optimistic in your day-to-day life. If you already have your life in order, take a look at this article anyway. Maybe you can tweak a few things and get even better results.

In addition to the above, in this issue you will find a recruitment opportunity for ITREB, a number of discounts and promotions exclusively for Jamati Members with leading retailers and service providers and a look at the winners of the 2022 Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

Volunteering and the sense of serving with humility and dedication are part of our faith and our tradition. Despite personal and professional challenges and day-to-day demands, volunteers dedicate their time and knowledge to the Imam and Jamat. This day was celebrated on October 21st 2022. A big thank you to all our volunteers.

We hope you enjoy this issue as much as we enjoyed preparing it for you.
