The Aga Khan Health Board for Angola organized a DENTAL CHECK-UP camp for children to spread awareness in children regarding the importance of oral hygiene and receiving a professional opinion for any existing dental plaques or deformities which should be treated in the near or distant future.

The check-up took place on February 26 with a dentist - Dr. Neha helped AKHB with her time and knowledge service. She has 5 years of experience after her bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery from India.

The Camp was aligned with REC classes date and timing so that the maximum number of children could participate in this initiative. A total of 45 children were able to participate in the camp with ages ranging between 20 months old to 12 years old.

The gums, teeth, and the overall mouth were examined for signs of problems and professional opinions/treatment options were given by the dentist.

Children were explained with importance of oral hygiene and parents were counselled on their queries on a one-to-one basis.

At the end of the check-up, children were offered a kit which included a toothbrush to create awareness about the importance of daily oral care and hygiene.
