This is a tournament for individual players, but at the same time there is also a team competition. According to the Tournament regulations, each country (each team) must consist of four of the players with the best rankings; one of them must be a Junior and one, a female. For the finals, the Portugal team was formed by:
- NAGUIB KARMALI
- KARIM ALI DAYA
- AMINAZ MITHA
- RAISSA RAJABALI
Of the four players, AMINAZ MITHA is from the Jamat of Spain. It is important to mention that Portuguese players have received a great support from Nasir Allahdini, a professional chess player, originally from Iran, who is currently part of the Jamat of Barcelona. Nasir has been giving regular lessons to Portuguese players, both to those who are in the Tournament as well as to the beginners.
From the Portuguese team only KARIM ALI DAYA was classified to play at the European Tournament, in which six players representing Europe will qualify from this group, who will now compete in the world finals that will take place on the 17th and 18th of July and that will count with representatives from other continents.
Jamati members will be able to watch the live matches in the next phase through a link that will be posted in due time.
