On this day, boy scouts and girl guides prepared posters, power-point presentations and models on Imamat institutions, contribution of Muslims in the field of science, etc. and presented it to their respective Jamats. The objective of the programme was to highlight especially the work done by Mawlana Hazar Imam through his words, actions and creation of institutions to dispel ignorance and promote pluralism. The Ismaili Imamat has developed a number of institutions that aim to educate the diversity and history of Islam and through their work, programmes and architecture exhibit the values of the faith. Some of these institutions include the Aga Khan Museum, the Ismaili Centers, the Global Centre for Pluralism, and the Institute of Ismaili Studies.
More than 10,000 scouts and guides were engaged in this activity throughout Pakistan.
Speaking about the program, Shamez Mukhi, Chairman, Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board for Pakistan said “Thousands of Ismaili Scouts and Guides celebrated Diamond Jubilee Theme 6: Becoming ambassadors of peace in all areas of Pakistan. It was wonderful to see young scouts and guides in the exhibition sharing knowledge about Muslim leaders including scientists, artists, philosophers and musicians, etc, and also about the work of IIS, ISMC, Ismaili Centres and other institutions.”
