Justice Baig started his educational journey at Diamond Jubilee Primary School Draskin, Thoi and FG High School, Taus, Yasin, He then proceeded to Islamabad for his Intermediate studies. He attained his law degree (LLB) in 1990, followed by an MA in Political Science from the University of Karachi. His professional career began as an advocate, leading to his role as an Assistant Legal Advisor for GB, an appointment facilitated through the Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan.
Later on, he assumed the responsibilities of the District Attorney in Skardu and Ghanche while serving as an Additional District and Session Judge across various districts within Gilgit-Baltistan. In a significant career milestone, Justice Baig earned a promotion to the position of District and Session Judge in 2011. Ultimately, in 2021, he assumed the prestigious role of Chief Justice of Gilgit-Baltistan and currently fulfils his duties in the Chief Court of Gilgit.
His journey in Jamati service began when he joined the Regional Conciliation and Arbitration Board shortly after his graduation. This marked the start of his continuous dedication to Jamati service, eventually leading him to become the Chairman of Regional Conciliation and Arbitration Board, followed by the role of Convener in Aga Khan Social Welfare Board and ultimately, President of the Ismaili Council for Skardu. Not only does he hold the title of Huzur Mukhi, but he has also been blessed with a Talika Mubarak from Mawlana Hazar ImamAn area like Skardu has its own challenges including lack of infrastructure and the scattered presence of the Jamat, yet he never lost his determination. The passion to serve his community kept him resolute in his endeavours. He resolved numerous disputes, acquired lands for Jamatkhana, taught the Quran to students and instilled the importance of the Ismaili faith and practices.
The path of his service was demanding, yet when he successfully resolved 700 to 800 cases, the spiritual fulfilment that he experienced was beyond words. According to him, there were times when the journey seemed difficult, but the reward bestowed upon him by Mawlana Hazar Imam, along with the heartfelt prayers for his family, became a dream come true for him and his loved ones, allaying all hardships they had endured.
