But when you need an energy boost, it is far better to reach for this banana and strawberry energiser than grabbing a chocolate bar. And there’s no added sugar — all the sweetness comes naturally from the fruits.

Directions
1. Peel the banana and cut in half.
2. Place the banana, strawberries and apple juice in a blender. (The frozen strawberries give a nice crushed ice texture).
3. Blend for approximately 30 seconds until the smoothie is thoroughly blended and has turned a red colour.
4. Pour into a tall glass, and serve with a straw.
