The Social Welfare and Women’s Activities Committee has celebrated women’s day on Thursday 10th with an interactive session titled “Yes You Can” conducted by Ms. Najma Arif. The program was steered virtually from London, UK. Ladies above the age of 15 years were wholeheartedly welcomed. And this year, being equal is prioritized with the idea of promoting a sustainable tomorrow which theme explains, "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow."
This day is commemorated to honor women of all ages and races in a world where they can live freely and up to their own terms. Women have always been suppressed by some kind of force that has restricted their choices and freedom. But as times are progressing, women are rising up to their full potential and taking steps to ensure they have the means, choice, and freedom to speak and do whatever they want.
Members of the audience participated enthusiastically throughout the program. The session concluded with a very motivating speech by the Chairperson, SWWAC. At the end of the program, a cake was cut by the senior-most member in the audience entitled ‘Yes We Can’ on the cake.
After the program, group photographs were taken to capture the beautiful moments with the strongest women out there. Cake and snacks were distributed in takeaway boxes to all present
We move forward with our heads held high and a strength that cannot be denied. A woman who's been through the storm and survived.
