A Financial Literacy programme took place at the Ismaili Centre in Lisbon from April to June. The aim was to make the participants understand the importance of a family budget, which requires a plan that defines how much to spend, how to save and how much to keep for unforeseeable situations, without forgetting the Social Solidarity component (how much to give).
Concurrently, information was provided on the Portuguese financial system, insurance, minimum banking services, means of payment, bank accounts and access to credit, financial rights and duties of consumers and other related issues. The participants loved this programme and asked for sessions for each family, which are already in preparation.
