The Livelihood Mentor himself as an expert element that elaborates and accompanies an economic subsistence plan, in close articulation with the family members' interests and potentialities.
Profile
- Experience or interest in the area of socio-economic development;
- Knowledge or interest in an activity sector with a high potential for development and employability;
- Knowledge of Portuguese and English;
- Interest in the personal and professional development of murids;
- Focused on achieving goals, with the purpose of ensuring social impact on the community and the household;
- High analysis capacity;
- Autonomy in the proposal and development of solutions more adjusted to each context;
- Interest in a methodical and procedural approach, with the aim of ensuring correct monitoring of cases and the respective reporting;
- Computer skills;
- Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Willingness to learn and contribute professionally to the community;
- The mentor must be part of the Portuguese Jurisdiction (Portugal, Spain or Angola).
Report
The Livelihood Mentor should report the evolution of the families to the Livelihood Development Lead and Case Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities | Livelihood Mentor
Develop specific plans for each case, having the responsibility to define objectives, as well as the identification of all the necessary requirements to guarantee these goals and their associated costs. Planning must take into account the following vectors: personal and professional development and economic sustainability.
- Develop and adapt economic livelihood plans;
- Job search;
- Career change;
- Academic training;
- Development of other socio-economic skills (lifelong learning);
- Definition of objectives for each of the plans;
- Short-term: immediate economic livelihood;
- Medium / long-term: development of other academic skills and professional progress;
- Monitor all objectives defined in each plan, as defined by the Livelihood Development Program;
- Monitor all murids/households under your responsibility;
- Report the evolution of all cases, seeking to respond to all the objectives defined for the program, and if necessary, create mitigation plans to overcome any constraints;
- When necessary, approach and involve other stakeholders (internal or external);
- Ability to carry out benchmarking studies and analyzes;
- Identification of potential employment and business opportunities in sectors with high employability potential;
- Identification of requirements for new job opportunities;
- Identification of courses and/or certifications with high employability potential;
- Mapping of costs necessary for the personal and professional development of each murid;
- In synergy with AKEPB, support in the development of management tools (eg business plan or payment plan);
- Find new methodologies and/or approaches to increase the quality of life for murids and their households.
