Do you feel disorganised in your project execution or study methods? If prioritisation is one of the reasons behind your lack of productivity, this method is for you! In this edition of Time Management Techniques, we will be exploring the possibility to reach all your short-term goals while aiming towards long-term success.
Thus, we introduce you to the Eisenhower Method, a productivity plan focused on the prioritisation of tasks through a simple matrix. History states that the method was developed by the American president whose name is associated with the technique. The matrix, as seen below, focuses on the nature of the task at hands, which can be split between the following categories: immediate, not immediate, critical, and not critical. The goal of this matrix is to be able to know how to organise your tasks in a way that the critical and the immediate converge rather than diverge.
Combined with other time management techniques, such as the Forest app (mentioned in the previous article of this column), or even the Pomodoro Technique, the junction of these methods is ideal to overcome any difficulty that may arise in terms of productivity, especially when trying to combine long and short term tasks.
And you? Are you ready to put the matrix into use for your next project? See how you can further apply this technique combined with the above mentioned ones on our website.
