Early childhood development programs and activities protect children from stress, increase learning at home and lay the foundation for learning at school.

Special attention needs to be given to the development of early childhood. The University of Chicago professor James Heckman, who won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2000, when asked why stimuli in the first years of life are so decisive for success in adulthood, he replied “It is a phase in which the brain develops at a frantic speed and has enormous absorptive power, like a malleable sponge. First impressions and experiences in life set the stage on which knowledge and emotions will develop later. If that base is fragile, the chances of success will drop; if it is solid, they will fire at the same rate. For this reason, I defend stimuli from an early age. ”

Different studies claim that the child's brain development happens in the first years of his life, from 0 to 5 years old. Therefore, the child's cognitive and social performance during this stage is not only a determinant of success in the rest of the school career, but also guarantees a better return on investment in the family, community and in the development of a Society.

Mawlana Hazar Imam gives guidelines on Education including that of Early Childhood, i.e. “work hard during your education, from early childhood development until post-graduate university studies, work hard in your education. This is an opportunity for you to gain capabilities which will serve you all your lifetime”.

Without prejudice to educators and teachers, parents are the pillars in the education of our children, and we would like to praise the contribution of all parents without exception for the excellent involvement in their children’s projects. The Education Board in Angola expects the same dedication, support and enthusiasm in the new ECD @ Home cycle to develop the skills set of our lovely children from the Angola Jamat.

And it is with great satisfaction that we inform you that ECD @ Home will take place from January to June 2021. Project Manager, Farah Mulji as well as all Education Board members will always be there with you so that our children can carry out activities in their homes, with some regularity and with unconditional support from parents so that the two age groups, 0 to 3 years,  old and 4 to 5 years old, can enjoy moments of art, painting, literature, poetry, physical exercises and many other experiences in order to minimize the effects of the pandemic with the respective restrictions of classes and face-to-face activities, thus guaranteeing the protection of our children and families.

We would also like to wish Salgirah Mubarak to all.

Let’s remember some moments with our children:
