If you are a senior looking for new entertainment, consider dancing!

Portuguese

Physical activity becomes increasingly important in the golden years, but there are those who prefer another type of activity. Listening to music and dancing is a wonderful alternative, as it provides seniors with many of the same benefits but in a fun way.

Music and dance arise from the need to lessen or delay the effects of aging and as a response to the problems inherent in the senior's social, psychological and physical aging.

Therefore, on the latest My Golden Events activity, which took place on July 30th, Elderly Care offered a session with the theme “COVID with music and good mood”.

Through music and dance sessions, it is intended to provide physical well-being, quality of life and independence to seniors, offering numerous benefits both in terms of strengthening the bones and cardiovascular system, balance, coordination, flexibility, cognitive function, as well as level of decreased high blood pressure and diabetes.

On the other hand, these sessions aim to promote socializing through digital platforms, due to the current context, reducing the feeling of loneliness, social isolation and depression, reinforcing the feeling of belonging to the community.
